Press Releases & Updates

Welcome Nicole Williams!

Nikki joins Dunebrook as the Director of our new Parent and Family Education Program. A Portage, Indiana native, Nikki holds a BA in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina.

Nikki began her career as a Victim Advocate at a Child Advocacy Center in South Carolina. She also has experience in managing a program for at-risk youth, and experience in program development and coordination.

Nikki is launching Dunebrook’s new Parent and Family Education Program, which is built upon the evidence-based Nurturing Parenting curricula. Dunebrook first introduced Nurturing Parenting in 1992, and through the years has delivered this dynamic program in parenting workshops, classes and home visitation, to both voluntary and mandated families.

The Parent and Family Education Program will promote healthy physical and emotional development of parent-child relationships and teach appropriate developmental expectations and family roles.

Nikki is excited to be back home in Indiana (even in winter) and part of the Dunebrook family.

Watch for details on upcoming parenting workshops.

Dunebrook’s Response Plan & Status Given the COVID-19 Virus

Dunebrook continues our passion for strengthening and supporting parents and children and our work in child abuse prevention/intervention.

During these challenging days of the COVID-19 virus, Dunebrook continues our home visiting through virtual home visits in our Healthy Families Program.

Our Child Advocacy Program doors are also open as we continue the important role of interviewing children with suspected child abuse, particularly considering the increased stress in our communities.

And, if you are a parent that needs ideas and help with your child and family management, although our Public Education Programs in the schools have been interrupted, we will continue to post ideas and parenting tips here and on our website www.dunebrook.org.

We will prevail as a community, country and world navigating these uncertain times together!

Dunebrook can be reached at 1-219-874-0007 if you have any questions about our programs or related issues.

Wishing you all peace, patience and good health.

Jeanne Ann Cannon, LCSW
Executive Director
